Assistant Manager Felicity Ventom (aka Flick) is a multitalented individual, with music, comedy, and now TV presenting to her list of skills. The new episode of Flick's Flicks is out, a monthly show about films playing at Picturehouse Cinemas.
This is a blog about the business side of cinema from an exhibition perspective. It looks at everything related to the making, distributing and exhibiting films from a commercial point of view. I took the name, Splendor, from a marvellous 1989 Marcello Mastroianni film about a small independent cinema.
I am the General Manager of the Duke of York's Picturehouse in Brighton. I also am the Business Development Manager for the Stratford Picturehouse. This is a Picturehouse cinema and the oldest purpose built cinema in the UK.
I attended film school in New York City, both at NYU and at the New School University. I worked briefly in film production with my brother Tony, who is a focus puller. I have an MA in Arts & Cultural Management at Sussex University. I also sit on the CINECITY Film Festival Board. I've written a Film Quiz book, for The Guardian, Intellect Books, and various blogs/publications.
