UK Box Office 1-3 Jan

James Cameron's digital epic AVATAR takes the top spot once again, and its worldwide take is over $800 million. Could this mean that Cameron will take the #1 and #2 spot of highest grossing films ever?
Meanwhile homegrown flick SHERLOCK HOLMES takes decent money and NINE doesn't fare so well.

Here's the top 10:

1- AVATAR (£5,896,826)
2- SHERLOCK HOLMES (£3,435,169)
3- ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS 2 (£2,435,580)
4- DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE MORGANS? (£1,155,060)
5- NINE (£780,255)
6- ST TRINIANS 2 (£671,480)
7- 3 IDIOTS (£331,166)
8- NOWHERE BOY (£235,782)
9- TWILIGHT: NEW MOON (£214,171)
10- PLANET 51 (£163,542)

  1. It can overtake Titanic, take $2 Billion, run for months and months... It's still rubbish!?! It was, for me, the biggest cinematic disappointment of 2009. Your tills would ring... But would you REALLY want it at The Grand Old Duke?! There's a REASON I was part of a more than respectable turn out for the One Fifteen showing of The White Ribbon last Tuesday... Quality Films, well-presented (once you'd worked out exactly WHAT film you were meant to be showing!?! Ha ha ha!) and at a reasonable price.
